TGEs (taste giving extracts) are extracts in powder or liquid format with the main objective to flavour the product in which they are formulated. Added in low amounts, these natural extracts enhance formulations and reveal all the aromatic notes of the plant’s natural state. Very versatile and adaptable, they can be used in an array of applications and they have infinite marketing potentials...

Highlight their use and designing specialised nutrition products:

Applications

TGEs are much more than mere aromas, they concentrate the entire aromatic profile of the plant while keeping its top note and also the bottom note, thus supplying a complete range of tastes and savours naturally released by the plant.

Particularly adapted to traditional infusion plants (chamomile, rosemary, thyme, lemongrass, verbena, etc), these extracts can be integrated into both liquid and solid formulations. They can be found in aromatised drinks, teas, powder nutritional solutions, instant drinks, effervescent tablets, sodas, etc.

Completely water soluble, this ingredient is extremely versatile and be applied to all sorts of formulations. For example, TGEs can be part of the formulation of a protein mixture for sports nutrition, teas in stick form to be dissolved in cold or hot water or even to flavour infant milk… The idea behind being to reinforce taste and enhance the product with a very low quantity of TGEs.

Potential and product positioning

Besides the aromatic dimension, TGEs give real added value to the product it is incorporated into since it presents quality superiority and infinite marketing potential:

Usage

Naturalness

To begin with, TGEs are 100% natural extracts. They therefore represent a healthy and an ideal solution to combine pleasure and health. These extracts are derived from the most noble raw materials and provide access to high quality sourcing and organic supply chains.

Traceability

Based on these aromatic extracts, you can put forward supply chain transparency and traceability from the field to the ingredient (choice of varieties, growing practices, harvest period and drying and manufacturing procedures).

Terroir

TGEs are more of a solution than an ingredient which can allow you to go even farther in seeking traceability and transparency as you can choose local sourcing or a terroir (verbena from Anjou, thyme from the Drôme or the South…).

The universe of taste

Finally, you can decide to create theme-based products, taste universes for your spicy (cinnamon, ginger), flowery (lavender), woody (oak, cascarilla) or botanical (echinacea, mint, dandelion) preparations.

Usage

TGEs are superior quality products but contrary to preconceived ideas, integrating them in solutions does not increase the cost price compared to other natural flavouring solutions: their aromatic strength is such that incorporating them is done with parsimony and a couple TGE units suffice to enhance the taste of your end products. Added to formulations at 0.3 to 0.7%, depending on the target and the project, this concentration is adjusted in order to obtain a balanced dosage and at a price corresponding to your expectations.

Integrating aromatic extracts to your formulations provides real added value, the possibility to tell the story behind your products, to transmit your values and to allow rediscovering the real flavour of plants…
